Hi All, Apart from Monopoly and Scrabble, what other braille board games are out there for the blind, and where can one acquire them? Thanks! Caitlin
I am not sure I am looking for that my self.
have you tried independent living aids or maxiads? I know they also have connect four and not sure what else! lol smile- angel

Yeah they usually have good stuff. I got something similar to Scrable from MaxiAids called Word something/
I've seen tactile Chess, Checkers, and Back Gamon boards, but not in a while. Let Google be your friend:).
How about Braille Bingo? I've seen that.
I have the most wonderful chess board..it's fairly old and all wood carved. The new ones are all plastic, they don't make 'em like that anymore; the peaces on the new tactile chess I've seen are just huge! When I need braille boardgames, I usually just look into labeling the sighted board when possible. Same for obscure card games like mile stones etc. Sorry for spelling, I'm a litle tired and so really really punchy.
What about braille trivia gamesl ike Cranium or Who Wants to be a Millionaire, liek family board gaems heheheh?
I wish they had games like that, or like Candyland and things like that too. My mom says she remembers us all playing it, but I don't remember how it's played and can no longer even play it without help, so therefore yeah, I haven't played that game in a pretty long time. *smiles* We could probably find ways of adapting the games so blind people can play, but it would be cooler if they had those games already available like they have Monopoly, Chess, and Checkers.

they do have monoply and stuff like that, you will have to check out maxiads, or independent living. I have braille uno and it's not a board game but fun. I do also have the braille bingo card. My dad made me a connect four game. He just used the regular game and the black ones he drilled a hole in the middle of it so i could tell which was which. smile- angel
*smiles* I know. But I still wish there were more of those other games like Candyland and lots of others that weren't mentioned yet. I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but they do also have Connect Four already in an accessible form. That was cool your dad adapted the game for you though. I do that with my playing cards and in fact, I want to get another set of those plastic ones, and am wondering if they have the Uno ones like that as well. I just Braille them with a slate and stylus. It's quicker and probably cheaper than having to order them already brailled. *smiles*
